The National Black Light Theatre of Prague is an international touring company born out of Prague during the communist regime. Using the medium of black light theatre, founder Pavel Marek, created a theatre which enabled a release from the grey reality – a release into a fantastical world where anything and everything is possible. The National Black Light Theatre of Prague are the leading innovators in Czech Black Light Theatre using patented technology to create black light tricks and illusions whilst constantly delivering engaging storytelling. Their international collaborations (most recently with seminal theatre designer Michael Curry) have enabled the company remain at the cutting edge of international black light theatre innovation.

The company are currently collaborating with a Chinese circus troupe on an large format, multi discipline interpretation of the folktale ‘The Monkey King’, scheduled for 2012/2013
