At the Le Meurice, Paris

After three successful editions, Le Meurice, the first Parisian palace hotel (1835), is launching the fourth Meurice Prize for contemporary art. Artistic creation has, since 1835, been essential to the art of living at Le Meurice, where art coincides with a certain French genius.

Such luxury is the kind that gives expression to creativity and innovation, to art in its highest form. True to its heritage and its interest in the art of its times, in 2008 and under the impetus of General Manager Franka Holtmann, Le Meurice founded the Meurice Prize for contemporary art, and in doing so asserted its support of young French artists.

This act of corporate patronage is a non-profit initiative which each year provides financial support that will help an artist on the French scene gain international recognition.

The Meurice Prize for contemporary art is an international award with an endowment of 20,000 euros. It concerns all disciplines in the visual and plastic arts (painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, etc.).
